Why water?
From one side of the globe to the other, water is one of the vital elements for life on earth. To protect this valuable resource we need to understand how we use water, where our water comes from, the problems with water today, and what we can do to conserve our waters and improve water quality.
What are we doing?
We have brought together students from schools in Lexington, Kentucky and Kathmandu, Nepal to collaborate in their investigation of water. While studying the water in their own community, students will learn about their local water issues, test the quality of their water, and look at their own everyday use of water. On the L-SWAP website, students from all schools can share what they find, and explore the differences and similarities between water in their community and water on the other side of the world!
